Action-Influence Balance
The four distinct small groups within a category and their psychological implications for personality typing.
Small Group Analysis
Small groups represent the intersection of four personality types that share common characteristics. Each group reveals fundamental patterns in how types process information, make decisions, and interact with the world.
Category's Small Groups
Engaging
Group Description
Pulling people out of the shell of their indifference, from the vicissitudes of private life, pulling them out of the system of established close relationships in order to involve them in the global waves of social change. Using the language of strong, clear emotions, strong expressions, to reach the most inert. Often associated with inert Fx, as it involves the accumulation of negative emotions related to the breakup of close relationships and separating people onto different sides of barricades.
Candid self-expression (demonstrating one's inner mood, desires, etc.) - with the aim of attracting necessary subjects.
The Intensity of Social Upheavals
Rigid
Group Description
Believe that there is a certain immutable order in the world, giving everything meaning and containing the highest beauty. To violate this order for quick benefit is a mistaken path, as everything will eventually return to its original state, mistakes will smooth out like noise, and only what aligns with the governing laws of the world will remain.
From their perspective, a person in the world needs to unravel and study the global plan, and then cooperate with its orders, as this is the only way not to disappear without a trace but to join the eternal. The thought of being part of the global and eternal, that all personal relationships are merely variations of general orders, brings comfort if these relationships worsen or fail. Negativity in such cases does not wholly dominate the person, but there is always the possibility of remaining optimistic in terms of general worldview (contact Fx).
Beta introverts: see the order as hierarchical, headed by an authority that punishes and grants statuses and regalia. This is a positivist and tactical order, meaning that its participant is not required to understand the whole plan, but only to believe and rejoice in being part of great deeds.
Alpha introverts: order exists by itself, these are the laws of nature to which everything is subject, and before which all are equal – from kings to the smallest insects. This is a negativist, strategic order, revealed only to those who can move away from details and grasp the essence of life, and it brings no joy – for nature is full of dark secrets, and with much knowledge comes much sorrow.
Behavioral rigidity (stubbornness, principledness in key issues) - with the aim of making it difficult for external subjects to manipulate oneself.
The Beauty of Perfect Structures
Contacting
Group Description
Seeking immediate benefit in the hustle and bustle of life and the chaos of interpersonal relationships. Striving to find an approach to people in private in order to sell goods and services and get something useful in return. Highly value a system of established connections ('you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours'), and know how to maintain and develop them. They frequently and willingly gossip to stay informed about the intentions of others. They go to discos, clubs, etc., not to showcase themselves or inspire others to activity (as the engaging ones do), but mainly to make beneficial acquaintances.
Associated with contact Fx, as in such a lifestyle the ethical-emotional sphere provides only tools for achieving business benefits. They do not deeply empathize with the problems of others, easily create connections, and just as easily sever them when they cease to be beneficial. They do not dwell on the past, thereby protecting themselves from accumulating mutual accusations and grievances.
Behavioral flexibility - with the aim of more effective manipulative impact on necessary subjects and advancement towards the goal, regardless of circumstances.
The Benefits of Chaotic Connections
Confidential
Group Description
Isolation from the large external world, its problems, passions, tensions, and social currents; maintaining a small world of established close relationships. Critical analysis of all participants in these relationships, especially newcomers, ethical examination of their personalities. The desire to know close ones as well as possible to manipulate their weaknesses, in order not to let go of them (Central), or to better adapt to their needs, become indispensable, and thus maintain the relationship system (Peripheral).
Focused on protecting their private world from external encroachments, tends to exaggerate the value of established close relationships for all parties involved and underestimate the importance of being part of the larger external world. This often leads to increased tension between close ones, especially if they demand emancipation and separation from relatives. Incorrectly established distances also sometimes cause self-blame and depressive states in the confidential types, directing them towards inert Fx.
Hiding one's real mood, desires, etc. - with the aim of maintaining neutrality in the eyes of others (and thereby freedom for maneuvering).
